RSA Registration Age and Gender Breakdown for Q3 2022
The analysis of Retirement Savings Account (RSA) registrations for the quarter, July to September 2022, by age and gender has revealed that 96.24% of RSA holders are below 50 years of age.
This points to the increasing sustainability of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), as the younger generation are actively being enlisted into the scheme.
The report revealed that during the 3rd quarter of 2022, 51.60% RSA holders are less than 30 years old, while 34.02% RSA holders are between the ages of 30 and 39 years old and 10.62% RSA holders are between 40 and 49 years old.

On gender distribution, 64.5% of those registered under the CPS during the 3rd quarter of 2022 are males, thus sustaining dominance over the female gender in terms of total registration under the scheme.
The table below provides details on the age and gender distribution of all RSA registrations during the 3rd quarter of 2022.
We do not have RSA registration age and gender breakdown from inception to 30 September 2022 because it was not released by National Pension Commission (PenCom), and we could not just add the data for 3rd quarter 2022 with data as at 30 June 2022 because of invalidated RSAs (duplicated RSAs removed from the system). We hope PenCom will include in its year end report, the RSA registration age and gender breakdown from inception to 31 December 2022.
