PTAD Renews Collaboration with Public Complaints Commission

The Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), Dr. Chioma Ejikeme, has renewed the Directorate’s collaboration with the Public Complaints Commission (PCC), towards improving their services to federal pensioners under the Defined Benefits Scheme (DBS).

The PTAD boss made this declaration during the courtesy visit of the Honourable Chief Commissioner of the PCC, Hon. Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf, to the Directorate.

Dr. Ejikeme, who described the PCC as “one of our major partners in progress in our bid to deliver optimum services to our highly revered pensioners”, thanked the Honourable Chief commissioner for the role the PCC, as an Ombudsman Institution, has played over the years in ensuring swift transfers of pension complaints to PTAD and interfacing with pensioners.

Earlier in his remarks, the Hon. Chief Commissioner lauded the efforts of PTAD in pension management and informed the Executive Secretary that the purpose of the visit was to familiarise himself with the Directorate and “commend your organisation for your tireless efforts in ensuring that the legitimate claims of retirees are paid timely and correctly”.

Hon. Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf stated that the volume of complaints received by the Commission from federal retirees under the Defined Benefits Scheme (DBS) has greatly reduced, which he said is a testament to the good works PTAD has been doing over the years.

According to him, the PCC “has carefully analysed PTAD performance index rate in line with its core mandate and is bold to state that your agency has performed creditably well since its establishment in August 2013”.

He however called on the Executive Secretary of PTAD to ensure the prompt resolve of some complaints transferred by the Commission, especially as regard the payment to the Next-of-Kin of deceased pensioners.
