Osun State Pensioners Protest at Govt Secretariat
Osun State pensioners in Osogbo, today, Wednesday 16 November 2020, protested at the Government Secretariat over non payment of their pension entitlements.
The pensioners carrying placards with various inscriptions like, “we are dying of hunger”, “Masses, help us we are dying”, “Dead people cannot enjoy infrastructure”, “Gov Oyetola, The dead cannot enjoy road project”, “Pay us our 30 months salary arrears”, etc, and sang solidarity songs urging all stakeholders to come to their rescue over non payment of their pension entitlements by the state government.
The pensioners, who prevented workers from entering and leaving the secretariat, said they have been subjected to hardship because of the non-payment of their entitlements by the state government since they retired between 2016 till date.
