National Pension Commission Commends Ogun State on Pension.

National Pension Commission (PenCom) has commended Ogun State Government for prompt and up-to-date payment of pensions, as well as successfully transiting from the Defined Benefit Scheme to Contributory Pension Scheme.

Leader of the delegation from PenCom National Headquarters and the South-West office, Mr. Murtala Modibo, gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Ogun State Head of Service, Engr. Lanre Bisiriyu at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Modibo stated that of all the States visited so far, only Ogun State has successfully completed the transition process from the initial Defined Benefit Scheme to the new Contributory Pension Scheme according to findings and available documents from both State and Local Governments.

”From the preliminary assessments, we have seen that Ogun State has done very well in administering the Defined Scheme transition to the new Contributory Scheme. Honestly, when we get to other states we found out that very few states had been up to date in payments of pensions under the Defined benefit scheme”, he said.

The Ogun State Head of Service, Engr. Lanre Bisiriyu commended the team’s effort at monitoring the process towards ensuring retirees get their entitlements without stress after years of meritorious services to their respective governments.

Bisiriyu maintained that the Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration was poised to improving the livelihood of everyone that has served the State in any capacity accordingly.
