Gov Oyetola releases ₦1.6bn for pension

Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State has released ₦1.6 billion for the payment of pension of retirees in Osun state.

In a statement from the office of the Head of Service and made available to newsmen, the amount released is for the payment of pension rights for the month of June 2022, to retired workers under the old Pension Scheme, retired Primary School teachers and Local Government staff on the Contributory Pensions Scheme, and retired civil servants in Ministries and Agencies of government.

The sum of ₦752,000,000 was paid as monthly pension to all retired workers under the old Pensions Scheme, the sum of ₦516,186,000 was used for the payment of pension bonds to retired Primary School teachers and Local Government staff under the Contributory Pensions Scheme, and the sum of ₦300,000,000 was paid to retired civil servants in Ministries and Agencies of Government.”

All workers of the State, both serving and retired, were assured by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of continuous priority of their welfare in the scheme of things in the State.
