Benue State increases Monthly Allocation to Benue State Local Government Pensions Board & Constitutes Pensions Advisory Committee.
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state, has increased the Monthly Allocation of the Benue State Local Government Pensions Board. This was disclosed by the Special Adviser, Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Elder Jerome Tor Shimbe, yesterday while addressing the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting which held at the Conference Hall of the Bureau.
In his address, Tor Shimbe assured of relentless efforts by the Governor Samuel Ortom led administration to offset all salaries and Pension arrears in the State as the financial fortunes improves.
Also approved by the governor was the constitution of a Pensions Advisory Committee with a marching order on them to immediately evolve pragmatic ways of ensuring that all Pensioners at the third tier are carried along in the payment of their Monthly entitlements.
Members of the Pensions Advisory Committee include the Chairman of ALGON Benue State, the Directors of Monitoring and Inspection, Finance and Accounts as well as that of Local Government Affairs and the State President of NULGE, State Chairman of Nigerian Union of Pensioners and his NUT Counterpart with the Permanent Secretary of the Bureau as Chairman.
