Absence of Judge & Maina delays trial of N2 billion Pension Fraud

Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja, and Abdulrasheed Maina, Chairman, defunct Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), were again absence at the Court on Tuesday for the continuation of the trial of Maina over allegations of pension fraud to the tune of N2 billion.

At the resumed hearing on Tuesday, counsel to all the parties as well as Maina’s bail surety, Senator Ali Ndume, were all in court but the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, Maina and his son Faisal were not in court.

Maina, who is being prosecuted on money laundering charges involving alleged diversion of pension funds to the tune of N2 billion, has been absent at the Federal High Court, Abuja, for five consecutive hearings of his case, alleging that he is hospitalized, his absence has stalled the continuation of his trial.
