FG Now Pays N9 Billion Monthly to It’s Retirees
At the commencement of the current administration the total amount being paid to FG pensioners on monthly basis was N3.5bn per month. Shortly after the current administration came into power in 2015, FG increased the amount to about N5.5bn per month.
With all the verifications that has been done and subsequent inclusion of the retirees of FG civil service, the police, customs, immigration and prisons, to the monthly pension payment, the amount Federal Government now pays its retirees on monthly basis is now around N9bn.
The Outgoing Executive Secretary of Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), Mrs Sharon Ikeazor, has said that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari deserves some commendation for increasing the amount Federal Government pays retirees on monthly basis.
It’s also necessary to note that Federal Government is making efforts to ensure that all those who have been verified are included in the monthly pension payment, and PTAD makes payment to retirees as funds are released for the specific payments.
