ICAN Requests Comments for Review of Nigeria 1999 Constitution
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has requested for comments from members for the amendment of the Nigeria 1999 Constitution, as amended.

Dear Member,
RE: CALL FOR MEMORANDA ON AREAS FOR AMENDMENT IN THE NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION 1999 ( AS AMENDED)
The Senate Ad-hoc Committee on review of the 1999 constitution formally commenced the process of further commencement of the amendment of the 1999 Constitution. The Committee has requested Civil Society Organizations, Professional Bodies and other interest groups to submit Memoranda or proposals for further alterations of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
As a follow up to this request, the Institute has constituted an Ad- Hoc Committee to articulate her position and make that available to the Senate Committee.
In line with the foregoing, you are hereby requested to send your position or proposal to the Institute’s Committee to enable it collate all proposals and come up with a strong position on behalf of the Institute.
Kindly state the section and subsection of the Constitution you are proposing for amendment in your proposal. It will be appreciated if your comments are sent immediately to this email constitutionreview@ican.org.ng but not later than close of business on Wednesday September 2, 2020 as the Senate Ad-hoc Committee had given us a deadline for submission of the Memoranda.
