ICAN President Recommends Golf to Chartered Accountants. You should Read this to know Why.
ICAN President Mazi Nnamdi Okwuadigbo, FCA, has implored accountants to take to golf as a way of keeping fit physically and mentally.
Mazi Okwuadigbo who dropped this advice in Owerri, the Imo State Capital during the 2019 ICAN President’s Golf Tournament said the sport is ideal for accountants and other business executives because it shares the ideals of the Institute which are Accuracy and Integrity. “Golf is a game of Integrity “he said.
He implored ICAN members to cultivate the habit of taking time off their busy schedules to engage in sports such as golf to improve their ability to make sound business decisions adding that the Institute sponsors the golf tourney yearly as its own little way to encourage a good work-life balance.
This year’s ICAN Golf Tournament which held at the Arsenal Golf & Country Club, Owerri attracted several golfers across the Country in the members and non-members category.
About 50 golfers competed for honours at the 18-hole golf course including two Past Presidents General Sebastian Owuama,(rtd,) FCA and Mr. Doyin Owolabi, FCA. Other dignitaries at the tournament include Mallam Tijjani Musa Isa, FCA (2nd Deputy Vice President); Dr. Etofolam Osuji, FCA, Chairman organizing committee; Chief Chibuzor Anyanechi, FCA and Mr. John Evbodaghe, FCA (Registrar/Chief Executive).
Mrs. Patience Kachi, FCA emerged the overall winner with 74 nets in the female category while Past President Doyin Owolabi, FCA made 78 nets to emerge winner in the male category.
