ICAN Postpones all Programmes – Covid-19.
The spread of the corona virus worldwide has created uncertainty and anxiety as the public and government agencies attempt to contain and combat this new viral respiratory illness.
The World Health Organisation had warned that Africa’s fragile health systems meant that the threat posed by the virus is considerable. This has led to the various actions taken by the Federal and State Governments in Nigeria to curb the spread of this disease.
Given this uncertainty, the Institute needs to take steps to mitigate the risks. The health and welfare of our stakeholders are paramount.
In view of the above facts, and acting in the public interest, the Governing Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), with immediate effect hereby postpones the following activities till further notice:
ICAN Professional Examination, March 24 – 26, 2020 in all centres in Nigeria, United Kingdom and Cameroun;
3rd Southern Zonal Accountants’ Conference, March 30 – April 02, Calabar;
14th Northern Zonal Accountants’ Conference, ApriI 6 – 9, Kano;
Academic Conference on Accounting and Finance. April 14 -16, University of llorin, Kwara State;
Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) programmes; and
ICAN Faculty Training Programmes.
All meetings are to be conducted via our video conferencing platforms for now.
The Institute will update stakeholders as events unfold. All inconveniences are highly regretted.
