Ogun LG Pension Bureau assures Pensioners of Improved Welfare
Ogun State Bureau of Local Government Pensions says it will continue to ensure economic independence and sustainability of viable social system, geared towards a more comfortable and fulfilled post service life for over 13,000 pensioners, under its purview.
The Permanent Secretary in the Bureau, Mrs. Irene Kokumo, said this while taking her turn to defend its 2021 budget estimate, before members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation, led by Hon. Olakunle Sobunkanla, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Kokumo stressed that it became imperative for the bureau to sustain effective supervision and prompt remittance of pension deductions under the Contributory Pension Scheme to custodians, while encouraging saving culture among improvident individuals, to cater for their livelihood at old age.
The Permanent Secretary proposed a total budget of N66.4m consisting of N26m for capital projects and N40m for recurrent expenditure for the next fiscal year.
