Imo State Governor Message to Unpaid Pensioners
Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has advised civil servants and pensioners who have not received their payments to go to the data center to submit their necessary details. The Governor made the statement when he received the Interim Audit report of Imo State Universal Basic Education Board (IMSUBEB) which uncovered several deceased persons and retirees still on the state civil servants salaries.
The governor advised those in the habit of politicizing the civil service and pension matters in the State to desist from such, saying that no amount of blackmail will make Imo backout from sanitizing the civil service in its entirety.
The governor said, “I received the Interim Audit report of Imo State Universal Basic Education Board (IMSUBEB) which revealed some sad realities in the State Primary Schools.”
“It is a sad revelation that over sixty (60) persons on the payroll of the board were found to be dead and non-existent, while another forty (40) persons who are no longer in the service of the State are still on the payroll of the State Government.”
“Furthermore, the report disclosed that over sixty persons who have passed the retirement age of sixty-five (65) are still on the payroll of the Government, drawing salaries and allowances.”
“I admonish other Ministries, Agencies and Departments of Government to tow the line of IMSUBEB. No amount of distraction will deter our Government from going-on and completing the exercise of sanitizing the Imo State Civil Service.”
“I advise those in the habit of politicizing the civil service and pension matters to desist from such. Civil servants and pensioners who have not received their payments should go to the data center to submit their necessary details.”
“I reiterate the resolve of our Government that no amount of blackmail will make us backout from sanitizing the civil service in its entirety.”
