Elected Leaders of ICAN for 2020/2021

Officers elected to serve the Institute in the 2020/2021 Presidential year have all assumed duties. Those who will serve alongside the President Dame Onome Joy Adewuyi FCA for the next one year include Mrs. Comfort Olu Eyitayo, mni, FCA (Vice President); Mallam Tijjani Musa Isa FCA (1st Deputy Vice President); Dr. Innocent Okwuosa FCA (2nd Deputy Vice President) and Mr. Oluwatobi Abiola FCA (Honorary Treasurer).

A versatile professional, Mrs. Adewuyi brings to ICAN Presidency her over thirty years experience acquired in various sectors of the economy. She is a product of the best of local and international tertiary educational institutions including the University of Benin where she studied Accounting; University of Lagos where she obtained an M.Sc degree in Banking & Finance and the Lagos Business School. She was also at Harvard Business School, the Wharton Business School, and the Kellogg Business School, all in the USA for various top management training. She has served in various committees of the Institute’s Governing Council since 2007 and was its Honorary Treasurer between 2011 and 2015.

The Vice President Mrs. Eyitayo cut her teeth in Accounting at KPMG Peat Marwick and KPMG Clinton. She also had a stint in banking at the United Bank for Africa before she took to entrepreneurship at the later part of her career. She is currently a strong player in the hospitality industry and a strong advocate of women empowerment through entrepreneurship.

Mallam Tijjani, a 1978 accountancy graduate had top level management experience in telecoms, maritime, manufacturing and automobile sectors before setting up the firm of Tijjani Musa Isa & Co (Chartered Accountants) in 2001. He has been on the Institute’s Governing Council where he had served in various committees.

Dr Innocent Iweka Okwuosa holds a PhD in Accounting from Henley Business School, United Kingdom. After his training and early accounting work experience in Nigeria he worked as Finance Administrator with Australia Trade Commission, London before joining Henley Business School, United Kingdom as a lecturer. He has also lectured at the University of Hertfordshire and University of Liverpool. He is currently an Associate professor/Head of Department of Accounting & Finance, Caleb University, Lagos.

Mr. Oluwatobi Abiola is currently the Deputy Director & Head of Technical Department at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). A graduate of Accounting of Babcock University and Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro both in Ogun State, Mr. Abiola worked with Mojibola Oluwa & Co (Chartered Accountants) before joining FIRS in 1995 as Tax Auditor but has since risen in rank and responsibility to lead various interventions at the Federal Government Tax regulator. He has been a prominent member of several committees of the ICAN Governing Council.
