Rivers Pension Board begins Verification of 2016 to 2017 Retirees

The third phase of verification exercise for the payment of gratuity, pension arrears and death benefits for retirees in the Rives State public service would end on October 31. The retirees covered those exiting from 2016 to 2017.

A statement delivered by the Director General of the Board, Ijeoma Samuel, revealed that the exercise would be carried out on different dates and retirees are charged to strictly follow their stipulated dates and come with necessary documents. The DG warned against any act that would cause embarrassment.

“We have commenced verification exercise for retirees between 2016 and 2017 in the Rivers State public service. For those in the gratuity and pension arears and those for deaths benefits. We warned that no retiree comes with any document that could cause embarrassment.

“The dates are made clear by year and months for every retiree to come, this is to ensure proper management of the exercise, to avoid any mishap as most of them are very old. So we want to handle them with utmost care and love. The Wike- led government is committed to do what it said it would do. Our senor citizens must be given their due as and when due,” he affirmed.
